我们常说的书法、书道和书艺，这之间是否有一种可以体察入微的区别？书法是指书法历史演进之中形成的，内在规定性所制约和导引的书写基本形态。书道是指更为自由的、籍借这种形式，只有系个人胸怀的生命姿态。书艺则更侧重指书写形式、所表达的摄人眼目、动人心魄的艺术创作行为，今天它泛指所有与书法相关的书写或类书写的形态。
注：现在汉字书法艺术在中国称“书法”，在日本被称为“書道”，而在韩国则为“書藝”。
